Person of Interest in Crawford Co. Double Homicide Taken into Custody in W. Va.


CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A person of interest in a Crawford County double homicide that occurred on Saturday, August 10, was taken into custody Wednesday, August 14, in Charleston, W. Va.

According to Lt. Davis of the Charleston Police, 21-year-old Jack Elijah Turner was apprehended in Charleston and is currently in custody.

Lt. Davis said that Turner was found at the Greyhound Bus Station in Charleston.

State Police in Meadville have been seeking Turner in connection with a double homicide that was discovered Saturday evening in Randolph Township, Crawford County.

According to police, 49-year-old Shannon Whitman and her 10-year-old son were found shot dead at a home on State Route 198 around 10:00 p.m. Saturday. They were discovered a family member.

Police say Turner stole Whitman’s gray/silver, 2009 Lincoln MKS sedan with Pennsylvania plate KXW5126 from the residence.

An arrest warrant was then issued for Turner for the theft of the vehicle.
