Police ID Man Killed in Forest County Crash

police-line-1024x680HOWE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police have released the identity of a man killed in an October 17 crash on State Route 66 in Forest County.

A release issued late Friday afternoon by Trooper Nupp identified 41-year-old John P. Robinson of Kane as the victim in the accident.

Nupp said the crash happened around 12:35 a.m. when a northbound 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis operated by Robinson exited State Route 66 near Sheffield Junction Road in Howe Township, Forest County.

Police say for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed over the southbound lane and struck a tree on the west side of the roadway.

Robinson was transported to UPMC Kane where he was pronounced dead.

He was not using a seat belt.

Marienville Volunteer Fire Company, Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department, Sheffield EMS, and Snyder’s Auto Body & Towing assisted at the scene.
