Breaking News: Police Release Details on Clarion County Head-On Collision That Left Two Seriously Injured


BEAVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police released the details on a crash that occurred on Saturday night on State Route 338, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

Police say 56-year-old Cheryl Courson, of St. Petersburg, and 52-year-old Carolyn A. Linberg, of Clarion, were involved in the accident.

This crash occurred around 8:48 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, on Route 338, just south of its intersection with Alt Lane.

A 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Courson, was traveling south when it crossed over into the northbound lane and impacted with Linberg’s 2016 Jeep Patriot.

Courson and Linberg suffered suspected serious injuries.

Two passengers in Courson’s vehicle – a seven-year-old female of New Bethlehem and a five-year-old male, of Wayne, Pa. – suffered injuries of unknown severity.

A passenger in Linberg’s vehicle – 61-year-old Christina J. Adams, of Clarion – suffered injuries of unknown severity.

All individuals were transported from the scene for medical attention.

Courson was not using a seat belt.

All other occupants were using seat belts or child safety seats.

According to a representative of Clarion County Office of Emergency Services, Knox Volunteer Fire Company, State Police Clarion, Shippenville-Elk Ambulance Services, Emlenton Area Ambulance Services, Knox Area Ambulance Service, Clarion Hospital EMS, and four helicopters were dispatched to the scene.

The helicopters from STAT MedEvac and LifeFlight landed on the grounds of the Wolf’s Camping Resort to transport four individuals to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

One person was transported to the Clarion Hospital.

The scene was cleared at 10:53 p.m.
