Police Searching for Coyote That Attacked Woman in Brookville

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The hunt is on for a coyote that attacked an employee at Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville late Saturday night.

According to Brookville Police Chief Vince Markle, the incident occurred around midnight when a nurse was walking outside on her break, and a coyote attacked her.

“She got ripped up pretty good,” Chief Markle said. “She needed about 18 stitches. If anyone sees a coyote in that area, we ask them to call us or the Pa. Game Commission.”

Police are concerned that the animal may be rabid.

Chief Markle said that if the coyote isn’t recovered, the woman will need to undergo a series of rabies shots.

Brookville Police can be reached at 814-849-5323, and the Game Commission can be reached at 814-432-3187 or 814-432-3188.
