A spokesperson for Brookville Area High School told exploreJeffersonPA.com that emergency personnel were called to the school shortly after 1 p.m. for a reported bomb threat.

Law enforcement is currently on the scene searching the premises.

Students have been evacuated to nearby Hickory Grove Elementary School where they are awaiting buses that will transport them home.

The school says elementary students will be dismissed at their regular time.

No further details are available at this time.

It is the school’s third bomb threat since October 3. Law enforcement scoured school grounds for several hours after two separate bomb threats were made on October 3 and October 17. Both threats turned out to be a hoax.

Brookville School District Superintendent Dr. Robin Fillman confirmed a suspect has been identified in the October 3 incident. No further details have been released on the October 17 incident.

It’s unclear if the three incidents are related.
