Clinton, Trump Projected as Winners in Pennsylvania

hillary-trumpDonald Trump and Hillary Clinton were winners in Tuesday’s Pennsylvania Primary election.

As the Pa. statewide winner, Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump picked up 17 delegates. This brings Trump to 914 delegates.

Trump has made a clean sweep during Super Tuesday states by also winning Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, and Delaware, projections indicate.

He still needs to reach to 1,237 delegates required to get the nomination before the convention.

Clinton also notched wins in Maryland and Delaware.

Former state official Katie McGinty won the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary, defeating former U.S. Navy Admiral Joe Sestak. She’ll face Republican Senator Pat Toomey in the November general election.

In the race for Pennsylvania Attorney General, Senator John Rafferty beat out former Scranton police officer Joe Peters on the Republican side of the ballot. On the Democratic side, Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro defeated Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala and Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli.

U.S. House candidates Glenn Thompson (R- 5th District), Kerith Strano Taylor (D-5th District), and Mike Kelly (R-3rd District) ran unopposed. Thompson and Strano Taylor will square off in the November general election. Kelly is expected to run unopposed.
