SNYDER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Police are investigating an incident of theft by deception that occurred around 11:50 a.m. on May 24, on Rattlesnake Road, in Brockport, Snyder Township, Jefferson County.
According to DuBois-based State Police, a 65-year-old Brockport woman attempted to purchase a dog online via an ad listed on a local advertising website.
Police say the victim sent money to the seller, then the seller asked for additional funds.
The victim then notified PSP DuBois.
The investigation continues.
PSP DuBois reminds the public to be aware of internet scams. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, according to police.
