Brookville Begins Quest For State Title Thursday in Hershey

Brookville D9 Team Wrestling Champions
HERSHEY, Pa. (EYT) — The defending state champion Brookville Raiders wrestling team will begin its journey for a third Thursday at the Giant Center in Hershey.

Brookville will take the mat at 4 p.m. Thursday. Its opponent will be Northern Lebanon, the third-place finisher from District 3.

Northern Lebanon beat District 11 runner-up Wilson Area 48-24, Monday evening.

A Raiders win over Northern Lebanon would put them in the quarterfinals at noon Friday against the winner of the match between District 4 champion Southern Columbia and District 10 runner-up Harbor Creek.

The semifinals are set to begin at 8 p.m.

Brookville was undefeated at 29-0 when it won the state crown in Class 2A last year and this year, the Raiders are 21-1 as they embark on another title chase. Brookville also won a state title in 1999.

The Raiders rolled to a fourth straight District 9 2A title Saturday in DuBois, beating Clarion (59-17) and Coudersport (61-7).

Reynolds, the only team to beat Brookville this season, is on the other side of the bracket.

Both would have to reach the finals for a rematch to occur.

Also, the Class 3A champs, DuBois, will begin action at 6 p.m. Thursday against District 10 champ Cathedral Prep.
