Brookville Borough Council Approves Plans for Laurel Festival, Two Other Events

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – With the spring in the air and the COVID-19 pandemic finally beginning to wane a bit, the Brookville Borough council gave their nod of approval for three upcoming events at Tuesday evening’s meeting.

Borough manager Dana Rooney told exploreJeffersonPA.com the council approved the annual Laurel Festival, the annual Ride for the Flag, and a new Food and Vendor Rally.

The Laurel Festival is scheduled for June 12 through June 20 on Main Street, in the town square, and with fireworks to be held at the memorial park.

The full schedule of events has not been released, but several events have been announced. The festival will kick off on Saturday, June 12, with Art in the Park. Monday, June 14 will be “Sportsmen and Outdoor Night,” and Tuesday, June 15 will be “Family Fun/Game Night.”

Both the parade and the fireworks will be held on Saturday, June 19, and the festival will wrap up with the car show on Sunday, June 20.

The annual Ride for the Flag event, sponsored by Friends of the Flag, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 6. It will begin with an escort through town, starting on East Main Street and heading west on U.S. 322.

Finally, the Rebecca M Arthurs Memorial Library is sponsoring the Food Vendor Rally fundraiser event, which is scheduled for from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on May 14 and May 15.

The event will take place on Pickering Street in Brookville and will feature local food trucks and vendors with a variety of food items.

They are anticipating having somewhere from six to 12 vendors at the event, including The Chow Hall, Dinger Dogs, Moon’s Meats, Fusion Café, Wild Rose Bakery, and Dimmick’s Roadway Café.

The event is sponsored in part by The Brookville Mirror/Blackbird Distillery, Life Span Family Services, Laurel Eye Clinic, Sigel Self Storage, Sarvey Insurance, and Miller Fabrication Solutions.
