Brookville Borough Council Welcomes Ken King

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Brookville Borough Mayor Richard Beck welcomed new council member Ken King at Tuesday’s meeting.

King was appointed at the January 3 meeting to fill the seat that was open after former councilman Steve Hoak resigned in December due to relocating to Louisville, Ky. for work.

King was sworn in by Beck prior to the meeting.

King is the part-owner of Galbraith Furniture in Brookville and is a branch manager of Davis Insurance.

King’s term will expire at the end of 2019.

In other business, council member Clarinda Darr said there will be a public meeting at 7 p.m.,Wednesday, January 25, at the borough building in council chambers about Walter Dick Park.

She hoped many in the community would come to the meeting to see what is being proposed and what they would like to see done at the park.

Junior council member Levi Roseman made a few announcements, including the results of District Chorus.

Brooke Johnson finished first, April Hetrick was fifth, Mikyla Georgvich was ninth and Racheal Gardner was 10th.

Council members Phil Hynes and Dave Ferringer were not present at Tuesday’s meeting.

Brookville Council will meet again Tuesday, February 7.
