Brookville Borough Police Calls: Assault at Brookville Hospital, DUI

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police in Brookville responded to the following calls:

Assault at Brookville Hospital

Around 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, the Brookville Police were called to assist probation at the Brookville Hospital with an unruly prisoner that had to be cleared to go to jail.

According to police, while the officers were attempting to handcuff the prisoner, she attempted to bite one of the probation officer’s hands but was stopped before actually biting the officer.

Charges are pending through Magisterial District Judge Bazylak’s office for aggravated assault, simple assault, and disorderly conduct.

DUI on East Main Street

Around 12:38 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, Brookville Police stopped a black Ford F-150 pickup truck for several traffic violations on East Main Street in Brookville Borough.

Police say upon speaking to the driver, a 32-year-old Brookville man, Officer Miller detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. After conducting additional testing, the driver was suspected of being under the influence to a degree that he was incapable of driving, and he was placed under arrest.

The driver was then transported to Brookville Hospital were he refused a blood draw.

He was charged with driving under the influence and other summary traffic violations.
