Brookville Borough Police Calls: DUI Arrests

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – The Brookville Borough Police Department responded to the following calls:

DUI Arrest on South White Street

Officer Miller, of the Brookville Borough Police Department, conducted a traffic stop at 2:30 a.m. on November 9 on South White Street on a black Ram 1500 for several traffic violations.

According to police, while speaking with the driver, Anthony S. Kubic of Johnstown, Officer Miller detected a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the Kubic’s breath.

Police say Kubic admitted to consuming several alcoholic beverages throughout the night.

After conducting several field sobriety tests, it was determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol to a degree that it rendered him incapable of safely driving his vehicle.

He was transported to the Brookville Hospital for blood, and the blood sample was subsequently mailed to the Greensburg Regional Laboratory.

It was determined that his blood alcohol concentration was .146%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08%.

Kubic was charged with Driving Under the Influence and other summary traffic violations.

DUI Arrest on West Main Street

On November 3, around 1:50 a.m., Officers Miller and Scheckler, of the Brookville Police Department, were dispatched by Jefferson County 9-1-1 to Sheetz at 300 West Main Street for a report of a male passed out behind the wheel in a vehicle. The male was seated in the driver’s seat with his head resting on the center console.

Initially, the male did not wake up when police knocked on the door. While opening the door, the male driver finally woke up.

Officers spoke with the male and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.

The male admitted to police that he consumed alcohol earlier in the evening.

During the investigation, the officers determined the driver was an 18-year-old Reynoldsville man.

He was charged with Driving Under the Influence and other summary traffic and criminal violations.
