Brookville Girls Take 16th at PIAA XC Championships


HERSHEY, Pa. (D9Sports) – The Brookville girls’ cross country team finished 16th at the PIAA Class 1A girls’ cross country meet in Hershey, Pa., with 380 points.

Emma Fiscus led Brookville finishing 104th in a time of 21:56. Alexis Dubay took 149th (22:48), Jennifer Kidder was 153rd (22:57), Aubrey Noble was 177th (23:42) followed closely by Brynn Afton in 178th (23:42) and Elissa McNeil in 188th (24:07). Dani MacBeth finished 20th (25:36).

Brockway’s Sylvia Pisarchick was 55th (21:01).

Northern Potter’s Danielle Perry gave District 9 a medal finishing fourth in a time of 19:17.

BOYS’ CLASS 1A RACE

In the boys’ Class 1A race, Elk County Catholic took second with 95 points. Penns Valley won the meet with 65 points.

District 9 had two medalists in Elk County Catholic’s Ben Hoffman, who took eighth in a time of 16:41, and Smethport’s Daniel Gregory, who took 12th in a time of 16:53.

Clarion-Limestone’s Andrew Forrest was 122nd (18:32).

GIRLS’ 2A RACE

District 9 had a pair of medalists in the girls’ 2A race led by St. Marys’ Amanda Foster, who finished sixth in a time of 19:08. Karns City’s Rebecca Pennington was 19th in a time of 19:44.

Clearfield’s Abby Laborde was 74th (20:48) and Punxsutawney’s Kate Horner was 154th (21:48).

CLASS 2A BOYS’ RACE

In the Class 2A boys’ race, Punxsutawney’s Owen Bartlebaugh took 48th (17:21) and Corbin Heitzenrater was 121st (18:02), while Clearfield’s Harrison McMillen was 171st (18:33), Isaac Swanson 173rd (18:35) and Jeremiah Vezza 220th (19:46).

CLASS 3A BOYS’ AND GIRLS’ RACE

DuBois’ Peter Foradora took 179th in the 3A boys’ race in a time of 17:53, while DuBois’ Lauren Usaitis was 128th (20:49) in the 3A girls’ race with teammate Julie Marchioni taking 183rd (21:49).
