He joins Gavin Park and Toby Cahill in winning the award this year.

Ortz went 3-0 over the weekend, helping Clarion to a win over Eastern Michigan while also adding victories against opponents from Michigan State and West Virginia. His most impressive win might have been the one against EMU’s Kyle Springer, as Ortz entered the third period of that match trailing 15-6. He proceeded to work Springer for multiple near falls in the third period, eventually taking the lead and dispatching him 22-17. Ortz finishes the regular season with a 24-9 record, including a 12-3 mark in dual matches.
