Brookville grad Zacherl named PSAC Wrestler of the Week

CLARION, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletics Conference (PSAC) announced its weekly award winners for Jan. 25, with Clarion wrestler Brock Zacherl earning Wrestler of the Week honors.

Zacherl improved to 22-1 on the season with a stellar 4-0 weekend, claiming an EWL victory over Cleveland State’s Michael Carlone on Friday and notching a 3-for-3 day at the Hofstra Duals with wins over opponents from Columbia, Hofstra and Sacred Heart. He notched the first points of the match for the Golden Eagles against the Vikings on Friday, going up quickly on Carlone and holding on for a 7-6 decision. He was dominant on Sunday at the Hofstra duals, claiming technical fall victories over Connor Muli and Alex Harnsberger and just missing on a major decision over Joe Moita with an 11-4 score.

Earlier this year, Zacherl won the 141 weight class at the PSAC Wrestling Championships and has won 15 straight matches dating back to Nov. 7, 2015.
