Brookville Laurel Festival Continues Today With Game Day

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Today is all fun and games at the Brookville Laurel Festival.

Monday is Game Day in the Town Square.

The schedule for Monday, June 17, includes:

  • 5:00 p.m., Dungeons and Dragons, D-Generation Next Games Sponsor: D-Generation Next Games
  • 5:30 p.m., Laurel 500, Pickering Street
  • 5:30 p.m., Hungry Human Hippos—by CMA Church
  • 5:30 p.m., Bouncy House – Sugar Hillbilly’s Concession
  • 5:30 p.m., Sunny 106 radio broadcast
  • 6:00 p.m., Power wheel races–by Corsica Volunteer Fire Company – Please note, participants must wear a helmet.
  • 7:00 p.m., Duck Drop, d’Argy’s, Main St. – by Berry Global Relay for Life Team
  • 7:00 p.m., Laurel Festival Art & Photo Show, **Judge’s Critique, Fusion Café, Main Street

There will also be various other games throughout the evening and a Reverse Dunk Booth by the local Boy Scouts.

The week continues with Family Fun Day on Tuesday.

Activities will range from barrel train rides, a pie eating contest, and a hot dog eating contest, to a twirlers workshop, the Rock and Roll Pet Store, a pet parade, and a bouncy house. There will even be two professional eaters doing an exhibition of their talents during the hot dog eating contest.

Wednesday is Heritage Day.

Historic Brookville Walking Tours will be available beginning at 1:00 p.m. “Victoria’s Closet,” one of this year’s new features, will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will allow visitors to see volunteer models displaying dresses from Queen Victoria’s reign when Brookville was a new and growing borough. Tickets are available at the Opera House. Finally, the night will wrap up with music by the Moore Brothers band.

Thursday is Hometown Heroes Day.

The community will celebrate Brookville’s own special men and women in uniform. “The Belle Tones” will be performing from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m in the Town Square.

Friday kicks off the popular Sidewalk Sale and Manufacturing Tours, with free parking available downtown.

The Sidewalk Sales begin at 8:00 a.m. There will also be a quilt show at the social room of Brookville Fire Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as well as the d’Argy Family’s annual “Movie on Main Street,” which is free to the public and will begin at dusk. At the end of the night, “Stillwater Band” will be playing at the Town Square.

Saturday is the day of the Grand Parade and Fireworks, as well as EMS Day.

Following the parade, “Billy and the Neptunes” will take the stage at the Town Square, and the Firemen’s Games will begin. Finally, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., “Against the Grain” will play before the blast off of the Grand Fireworks display at 10:00 p.m.

The big Autorama and Sporting Day is on Sunday.

The Autorama will be held on Main Street from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine. Sunday will also include a new weight-lifting tournament in front of the YMCA at 11:00 a.m. and a new Home Run Derby at 1:00 p.m. at McKinley Field. The Duck float begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Purple Heart Bridge and there will also be a corn hole tournament beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Town Square.
