Brookville Man Accused of Sexual Assault of Child

handcuff-300x225BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville man has been accused of sexual assault of a child following an investigation by Brookville Police, Children Youth Services, and other agencies.

According to court documents, 43-year-old Michael J. Hetrick, of Brookville, has been charged with the following offenses:

  • five counts of Aggravated Indecent Assault of Child, Felony 1
  • five counts of Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
  • one count Indecent Exposure, Misdemeanor 1
  • five counts of Indecent Assault-w/o Consent Of Other, Misdemeanor 2

According to a criminal complaint dated May 15, 2015, a known female juvenile stated that Michael J. Hetrick, of Brookville, sexually assaulted her.

The complaint indicates that around 10:00 a.m. on May 14, 2015, Officer Markle, of Brookville Police Department, met with Pat Berger (Child Advocacy Center), Assistant District Attorney Carlini, Children Youth Services, a nurse, and the victim.

The complaint states that the juvenile victim told Pat Berger (CAC) that Hetrick had sexual contact with her on four occasions that she can remember.

Around 10:00 p.m. on May 14, 2015, Officer Markle and Detective Felmlee met with Hetrick at the District Attorney’s office. Hetrick was advised of his Miranda Warnings which he allegedly said that he understood and agreed to speak with both officials. Hetrick allegedly stated that he had sexual contact with the juvenile victim, the complaint continues.

As a result of the investigation, Officer Markle believes the victim’s statement and interview were credible and requested Hetrick answer the charges previously listed, according to the complaint.

Unable to post $100,000.00 monetary bail, Hetrick was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing has been set for 11:00 a.m. on June 4 in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak.
