Brookville Man Accused of Swindling Soccer Association

PINECREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Brookville man is accused of selling a mower and keeping the money for himself.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, Michael J. Hetrick, of Brookville, was made an agent of the Brookville Soccer Association between January 1, 2013 and April 30, 2013.

During that time, he was allegedly given the authority to sell a red-in-color International 140-1353 J with a belly-style mower for $1,800.00, police say.

Hetrick is accused of taking possession of the mower from the property of the association at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds and later found a buyer for it in that time-frame.

Police say he then sold the mower for $1,800.00 to a someone in Brookville, and allegedly failed to turn the funds he acquired into the Brookville Soccer Association.

The Association has requested restitution and charges have been filed with District Judge Bazylak.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
