Brookville Man Arrested for Forgery

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police say a Brookville man has been arrested for forging a stolen check and attempting to cash it at a local bank.

According to Brookville Borough Police, charges are pending against a known 30-year-old Brookville man following an investigation into a forged check.

Police say it is alleged that the suspect received a personal check that was stolen from DuBois, then signed and attempted to cash the check at a bank in Brookville on January 1, 2021.

According to police, the suspect is currently lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order violation and charges of forgery and receiving stolen property are pending through District Court 54-3-03.

The name of the defendant was not released.
