Brookville Man Charged with Aggravated Indecent Assault of Young Girl

handcuff-300x225TOBY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – A 19-year-old Brookville man is facing charges for the indecent assault of a juvenile female in Toby Township, Clarion County.

According to a criminal complaint, Clarion County Children and Youth Services contacted police after an interview by a forensic interviewer in which the victim allegedly reported incidents involving Tyler James Murphy, 19, of Brookville, and occurred in Toby Township, Clarion County, over a span of time.

The incidents “first began when (Murphy) would get on top of her and grind on her with his clothes on,” the complaint states.

The victim said this occurred five to six times, and during the last such instance, Murphy allegedly touched her in a sexual manner, according to the complaint.

Murphy allegedly denied the allegations, and a polygraph examination was conducted with Murphy in which he revealed “the victim first started coming on to him,” the complaint continues.

Murphy allegedly said when he was between the ages of 11 and 17 when the victim “would pose for him and do a lot of things in front of him and ask him to touch her which he advised he wouldn’t,” the complaint states.

Murphy allegedly said the victim “lies about things but wasn’t lying about this” and admitted touching the victim in the sexual manner she described. Murphy said this took place when he was 12 years old, the complaint indicates.

Trooper Hotchkiss reviewed the investigation and facts of the case with the Clarion County District Attorney’s office. Based on the recommendation of the DA’s office, Trooper Hotchkiss requested a warrant of arrest be issued for Murphy.

According to online court records, Murphy was arraigned at 10:15 a.m. on August 5 before District Judge Jeffrey Miller.
