A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.POLK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred yesterday on State Route 1027 (Egypt Road), south of Davis Run Road, in Polk Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 60-year-old Andrew N. Kuch, of Brookville, and 43-year-old Robert E. Doane, of DuBois, were involved in the collision.

Police say this crash occurred around 11:25 a.m. on October 13, as a 1996 Freightliner Tri-Axle – operated by Doane – was stopped along the right edge of the roadway, partially on the shoulder of Egypt Road, with its hazard lights flashing, waiting for another tri-axle to pull out of a dirt road.

A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado – driven by Kuch – was traveling northbound on Egypt Road and collided into the rear end of the Freightliner without braking, for an undetermined reason, according to police.

The Silverado sustained severe damage, and the Freightliner sustained moderate damage. Both units were towed from the scene.

Police say Kuch suffered unknown injuries and possibly suffered from a medical condition causing this crash.

Kuch was taken to Penn Highlands in Brookville via Brockway Ambulance then later flown to UPMC Presbyterian via Stat MedEvac helicopter.

Doane was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Warsaw Fire Department, Brockway Ambulance, Jefferson County EMS, Bailey’s Towing, and Bricen Towing assisted at the scene.
