Brookville Man Injured After Car Slams into Mailbox, Snow Bank

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville man was injured in a one-vehicle accident last night on Greenville Pike.

Clarion-based State Police say around 8:05 p.m. Matthew A. Mitchell, Jr., 20, of Brookville, lost control of his 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT while attempting to negotiate a left-hand curve.

Police say Mitchell’s vehicle began to spin counter-clockwise and traveled across the roadway before crashing into a mailbox. The vehicle came to a rest on top of a snow bank.

Mitchell was transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Police say he was cited for a speeding violation.

Clarion Hospital EMS and Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1 also responded to the scene.
