Brookville Man Involved in Forest County Crash

JENKS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville man was involved in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Jenks Township, Forest County.

According to police, around 6:52 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, Shayne A. Mains, 27, of Brookville, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, traveling west on State Route 899 near its intersection with State Route 66 in Jenks Township, Forest County.

Robert A. Earl, 55, of Sabansville, was operating a 2007 Peterbilt truck and traveling south on State Route 66 while slowing to make a left turn onto State Route 899.

The crash occurred when Mains was unable to come to a controlled stop at the intersection and struck Earl’s trailer.

Both Mains and Earl were wearing seatbelts and no injuries were reported.

Mains’ vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front driver’s side.

Earl’s vehicle sustained minor damage to the trailer’s side rail.

Mains was cited for a speed violation.

Marienville Volunteer Fire Company, PennDOT, and Snyder’s Towing assisted at the scene.
