Brookville Man Suffers Major Injuries in Crash in Beaver Township; Flown to UPMC Altoona

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a Brookville man suffered major injuries resulting from an accident that occurred last night on Heathville Ohl Road, 787 feet north of Mohney Road, in Beaver Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 6:25 p.m. on August 16, 20-year-old Ryan J. Marshall, of Brookville, was traveling at a high rate of speed in his 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and failed to negotiate a straight-away.

The vehicle drove off the road to the left and crashed into an Alltel utility pole. The vehicle continued through the utility pole and bounced off a tree with the driver’s side. The vehicle then impacted a second tree and came to rest at the tree, police say.

Marshall was cut from the vehicle by Summerville Volunteer Fire Department.

According to police, he suffered major injuries and was flown from the scene to UPMC Altoona and then transferred to UPMC Presbyterian.

He was not using a seat belt.

Jefferson County EMS assisted at the scene.
