Brookville Preparing for Winter Weather

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — With several inches of snow forecast for this weekend, Brookville Borough Manager Dana Shick said they are ready for it.

The borough has two snowplows that take care of the streets and a small truck that takes care of parking lots.

“At least one of the snowplow, street-ready trucks is 100 percent ready, ready to go if we see snowfall this weekend,” Shick said.

In Brookville, weather.com is predicting 1-3 inches of snow Saturday night with an 80 percent certainty and a temperature of 27 degrees.

Sunday, 3-5 inches of snow with winds up to 22 miles per hour and a 90 percent certainty is in the forecast.

Also, Public Works Director Dave Vallosio said leaf pickup is still being done in the borough.

Residents are asked to rake leaves to the curb, but not on the street.

There are also two pickup areas that leaves can be delivered to, including one at Longview Park and one to the rear of the Maintenance Building on Darrah Street.

The Borough asks that grass clippings, tree branches, garden debris or ornamental flowers are left out because they will clog the trucks and delay leaf pickups.
