Brookville Resident Concerned About Neighborhood Speeders

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Brookville Borough resident Joe Lehr loves where he lives, but he’s concerned about the speeders on his neighborhood.

Lehr said he’s lived on Rose Street in the borough for seven years and has little to be concerned about, but he would like to see if a stop sign could be placed on Pine Street to slow the fast drivers.

“I’ve had four close calls in seven years, and the last one was close. For now, I’m avoiding walking on Pine,” Lehr said. “A stop sign would be ideal, but maybe some other type of sign indicating drivers should slow down.”

Chief of Police Jason Brown said he would take a look at the area Wednesday and see what the best course of action would be.

Also, council members learned the next comprehensive planning meeting for Jefferson County will be at 6 p.m., Wednesday, September 27. It will be held at Jefferson Place in the second-floor conference room.
