Brookville to Host 59th Annual Laurel Festival

laurel festivalBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The 2016 Western Pa. Laurel Festival is just around the corner.

The 59th Annual Festival kicks off Wednesday, June 15, and runs through Sunday, June 19, in Brookville, Jefferson County.

The annual outdoor festival will feature a pageant, a carnival, a parade, a food court, craft and sidewalk sales, musical entertainment, and more.

This year the theme is “A Magical Time.”

Festivities will kick off on June 16 with a Used Book Sale and the opening of the food court on Pickering Street.

The festival will continue with the Western Pennsylvania Laurel Queen Pageant on June 17 at the Brookville High School Auditorium.

Wednesday, June 15

9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. — Used Book Sale, Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library, Valley Street

11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. — Food Court, Pickering Street

11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. — Annual Author Luncheon (Diana Farley), Pinecrest Country Club, Tickets, $30.00, call 849-5512

Noon to 6:00 p.m. — Art & Photo Show, First United Methodist Church, Jefferson Street

7:30 p.m. — Laurel Queen Pageant, Brookville Area High School Auditorium

Thursday, June 16

9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. — Used Book Sale, Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library, Valley Street

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. — Food Court, Pickering Street

11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. — Bowdish Model Railroad, History Center, Main Street

5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. — Health Source Chiropractic & Progress Wellness (Massages for anyone over 18, along with spinal screening), Free, Main Street

5:00 p.m. — Register for Kid’s Pet Parade, Main Street

6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. — Kid’s Pet Parade, Main Street

6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. — Family Fun Night (Games and activities), Main Street

6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. — Ray Owen interactive children’s program, Main Street

7:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. — Children’s Chicken Karaoke

Mega Rock will provide music and announcements as needed

Sunday, June 19

10:00 a.m. — Car and Truck Show registration, entry fee is $5.00 per vehicle

Noon to 2:45 p.m. — Car and Truck Show, Main Street; D.J. Dazzle U Productions

1:00 to 4:00 p.m. — Used Book Sale, Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library, Valley Street ($1 per bag, except specially priced items; 4-5 p.m. Books are free)

3:00 p.m. — Car Cruise, follows car and truck show and ends at Kim’s Kruise -In on Route 36 North. Queen’s Choice Award will be presented to the Queen’s favorite car

3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Make your own sundae bar at Kim’s Kruise-In following Car Cruise

4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Open House, Dr. Steven Greenberg will host an open house of his collection of Antique and Classic Cadillacs at South White Street Complex

All Cadillac owners are welcome to show their cars, new or old. If showing, arrive at 3:00 p.m., call Greenberg at 952-1616.
