Brookville to Play at Neshannock, DCC at Hickory Thursday in PIAA Playoffs


MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (D9Sports) – Both the Brookville baseball team and DuBois Central Catholic softball team will be heading west for PIAA quarterfinal games Thursday.

Brookville, the D9 Class 2A champion, will take on District 10 runner-up Saegertown at 3:30 p.m. at Neshannock High School, while DCC, the D9 1A champion, will face District 10 champion Commodore Perry at 2 p.m. at Hickory High School.

Meanwhile, both DuBois and Punxsutawney will be hosting a pair of PIAA quarterfinal baseball games Thursday as well.

DuBois’ Showers Field is the home of a pair of Class 1A quarterfinal contests with District 9 champion Oswayo Valley meeting WPIAL runner-up Greensburg Central Catholic at 4 p.m. followed by District 9 runner-up Clarion taking on District 9 third-place finisher Elk County Catholic at 6:30 p.m.

In Punxsutawney, a Class 2A quarterfinal contest will take place at 4 p.m. between District 10 champion Rocky Grove and District 6 champion Bishop McCory. That game will be followed by a 6:30 p.m. game in Class 3A between District 10 champion Sharpsville and District 6 champion Huntingdon.
