Brookville Woman Charged with Leaving Children Unattended in Motor Vehicle

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Around 12:15 p.m. on September 11, Brookville Police were called by a concerned citizen who reported two minor children, ages 2 years old and 3 weeks old, in a vehicle unattended at the post office parking lot in Brookville, Jefferson County.

According to police, the children were allegedly left in the vehicle for approximately nine minutes while their mother, 21-year-old Kathryn Elizabeth Evans, of Brookville, went into the post office.

Police say the weather was hot, approximately 84 degrees.

Evans is being charged with two counts of leaving children in an unattended motor vehicle.
