Brookville Woman Faces Charge for Scratching Man During Domestic Dispute

CLARION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville woman is facing an assault charge for scratching a man during a domestic dispute that occurred last month in Clarion Township.

Court documents indicate the Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against Tina Marie Matthews, of Brookville.

According to court documents, on June 5, Clarion-based State Police filed the following criminal charge against 47-year-old Tina Marie Matthews, of Brookville:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

The charge is the result of a domestic dispute that escalated into a physical altercation at a residence located on Route 322 in Clarion Township involving Douglas Hannold and Tina Marie Matthews.

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:28 p.m. on May 25, Trooper Reilly, of PSP Clarion, received information from Matthews that a domestic incident occurred at the Route 322 residence earlier in the day.

It was learned that Tina Marie Matthews lives in Brookville, and PSP Punxsutawney was sent to interview her.

Around 9:30 a.m. on May 26, Trooper Reilly spoke with Matthews regarding the incident. She reported that she and her boyfriend, Douglas L. Hannold, were at the above-described location around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25.

The victim stated that Hannold was ignoring her, so she went over and had lain on top of him on the couch. Hannold got upset which escalated into a physical altercation. She reported that she scratched his face, causing him to bleed, and he assaulted her.

Matthews suffered a bruise to her right eye and a brush on her left shoulder.

Hannold suffered a laceration to his face.

Based on the investigation, Matthews is scheduled to be arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13.

During a preliminary hearing for Douglas Hannold on June 4, a second-degree misdemeanor charge of Simple Assault was withdrawn, and a summary charge of Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact was moved to Non-Traffic Court.
