Burglary Charges Filed After Brookville Man Allegedly Enters Home, Kills Dog

WARSAW TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville man accused of entering a Jefferson County home and killing a dog is facing multiple felony charges.

The following charges were filed against 28-year-old Todd Michael Barber on March 15, 2018:

  • Burglary – Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 1
  • Discharge Of A Firearm Into Occupied Structure, Felony 3
  • Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
  • Cruelty to Animals: Kill/Maim Domestic Animal, Misdemeanor 2

DuBois-based State Police say the charges stem from a March 2017 incident in which Barber allegedly entered a Warsaw Township home in an unlawful manner and proceeded to shoot and kill the homeowner’s dog.

Barber was taken to the Jefferson County Jail where District Judge Gregory Bazylak arraigned him via video.

He is free on $50,000.00 unsecured bail.
