Burglary, Theft of Collectable Coins Under Investigation in Banks Township

BANKS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police are currently investigating a burglary and theft of collectable coins that happened at a Banks Township residence.

Police say the theft occurred at a residence on Millstone Road in Banks Township, Indiana County, sometime between September 19 and September 30.

According to police, unknown individual(s) entered the residence and removed a one-foot by one-foot fireproof safe containing the following items:

– a Sacagawea gold dollar collection, valued at $75.00;
– an Indian head penny collection, valued at $12.00;
– a Buffalo head nickel collection, valued at $2.00;
– silver presidential dollar coins, valued at $375.00;
– a 1905 V nickel, valued at $35.00;
– a 1999 silver certificate, valued at $150.00; and
– a small treasure chest of miscellaneous coins, valued at $10.00.
