C-L’s Ian Callen Named KSAC MVP; All-Conference Teams Chosen


STRATTANVILLE, Pa. (D9Sports) – Clarion-Limestone junior Ian Callen is the KSAC boys’ basketball MVP, it was revealed Monday.

Callen helped the Lions go 17-7 and win the KSAC North and KSAC titles by averaging 19.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 6.1 steals, 5.3 assists and 2.4 blocks per game. He went over the 1,000-point mark in his career late in the season and will enter his senior season with 1,005 career tallies.

Joining Callen on the first team are Clarion’s Cam Craig (18.1 ppg), Forest Area’s Seth Berlin (21.7 ppg), North Clarion’s Nathan Banner (16.7 ppg), Union’s Lucas Bowser (18.5 ppg) and Karns City freshman Chase Beighley (13.3 ppg).

The second-team honorees are Keystone’s Dalton Jones (12.1 ppg) and Corey Rapp (11.2 ppg), Clarion’s Austin Hummell (13.2 ppg), C-L’s Christian Smith (15. ppg) and Venango Catholic’s Josh Puleo (16.4 ppg).

The third-team selections are Keystone’s Nate Wingard (8.1 ppg), Cranberry’s Dan McQuaide (15.2 ppg), Karns City’s Austin Fahlor (11.6 ppg), C-L’s Deion Deas (13.3 ppg) and A-C Valley’s Eddie Stevanus (13.2 ppg).

The teams are selected via a vote by the league’s coaches.
