Calvin Richard Jones, 74, of Rossiter, passed away on July 15, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 13, 1940, in Clearfield, a son of the late Clark “Casey” Richard Jones and Martha “Eleanor” (Rager) Jones.
Calvin worked as a heavy equipment operator for Sky Haven and Rescoal.
On June 2, 1962, he married the love of his life Beverly Maureen Archer. She survives him.
Mr. Jones was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Calvin attended the First Church of God in Canoe Ridge.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son. One of his favorite pass times was woodworking, building a house for his daughter.
Calvin was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his family and his dog “Buddy” whom he loved.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, he is survived by one son, James Calvin Jones; and one daughter, Deborah Ann Spencer and husband Gary; and grandchildren, Justin Spencer and wife Nicole Jo; and Jennifer Elizabeth Spencer all of Rossiter, one sister, Emma Straw and husband Tom of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Melissa Spencer; and two brothers William Jones and James Jones.
Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
Interment will be at Dever’s Cemetery, Rossiter, PA.
