Car Crashes into Tree in Henderson Township, Passenger Injured

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225HENDERSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a one-car accident occurred on Wayne Road, south of Pine Drive, in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Police say around 8:05 p.m. on January 8, a 16-year-old Big Run male was traveling north on Wayne Road. While negotiating a curve in the roadway, his 2006 Toyota Corolla slid on the ice-covered road.

The car exited the eastern portion of the roadway, impacted a tree, and came to a final rest facing north off the eastern berm, according to police.

The teen driver was not injured.

A passenger in the teen’s car – a 16-year-old Brookville male – suffered minor injuries.

Both teens were using seat belts.

The car sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene by Brosius Towing.
