Car Crashes into Tree in Rose Township, Driver Escapes Injury

ROSE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 6:30 p.m. on May 13, a one-car accident occurred on Seneca Trail Road (T-396), north of Creek Hollow Ridge, in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 18-year-old Alex M. Coleman, of Summerville, was traveling south on Seneca Trail Road and failed to negotiate a curve to the left and went off the left side of the roadway.

Upon leaving the roadway, his 2000 Ford Focus traveled a short distance before striking a series of mailboxes, a garbage can bin, and a tree with the front left driver side of the vehicle, police say.

After striking the tree, the car came to rest with the driver’s side tire hanging off an embankment, according to police.

Coleman was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He has been issued a traffic warning.
