Car Crashes into Tree in Rose Township; DUI Suspected

Blue flashing sirens of police car during the roadblock in the cROSE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a one-car accident occurred yesterday on Ramsaytown Road, in Rose Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 9:06 a.m. on February 28, 19-year-old Raymond B. Majoy, of Brookville, was traveling west on Ramsaytown Road too fast for conditions. His 2003 Ford Mustang traveled off the south side of the roadway, hit a tree, and then hit a ditch. The car came to a final rest off the south side of the road facing north.

Majoy and a passenger – 21-year-old Chris M. Hetrick, of Brookville – were using seat belts and were not injured.

Majoy was charged with a traffic violation.

Knox Township Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS assisted at the scene.

Police indicate the crash involves DUI.

The investigation remains open pending further investigation by PSP Punxsutawney.
