Car Crashes into Truck on Interstate 80

SANDY TWP. Clearfield Co., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township on Monday evening.

According to police, around 7:43 p.m. on Monday, May 4, a two-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 80 westbound just east of the 101.8 mile marker.

Police say a 2004 Lexus RX-330 was traveling int he left lane while a 2019 International Harvester Scout was traveling in the right lane.

According to police, at the 101.8 mile marker, the left lane was closed due to construction, and the driver of the Lexus failed to notice until approximately 100 feet before the lane closure. The driver then attempted to cross over into the right lane, and his front fender struck the driver’s side rear axle of the truck in the right lane.

Both vehicles then traveled approximately a half mile further west and pulled off on a wide berm at Exit 101 (DuBois).

No injuries were reported.

The Lexus sustained minor damage to its front end and passenger side front fender.

The truck did not sustain any visible damage.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

The driver of the Lexus, whose name was not released, was cited for a traffic violation.
