Car Overturns in Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 310

MCCALMONT TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police report a two-vehicle crash occurred on September 13 around 7:33 p.m. on SR 310 in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, the crash involved Cory T. Crawford, 26, of Falls Creek, and Christopher J. Crawford, 21, of Dubois.

The crash occurred as Cory Crawford traveling north on SR 310-in a 2011 Honda Civic and Christopher Crawford was traveling south in a 2000 Ford Focus.

Cory allegedly exited his lane of travel and entered into the southern lane, say police. In an attempt to avoid a collision, Christopher allegedly swerved into the northern lane.

According to police, Cory entered back into the northern lane and struck the right side of Christopher’s Ford Focus.

Police say Cory’s Honda Civic continued to travel north after impact and struck a guardrail on the western side of the roadway, coming to a final rest facing northwest.

After impact, Christopher’s vehicle traveled partially up an embankment on the eastern portion of the roadway and overturned. The Focus came to a rest on its roof facing south.

Cory was transported to the Punxsutawney Hospital for minor injuries by Jefferson County EMS, according to police. Christopher was uninjured in the crash.

The Honda Civic sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene by Southside Towing, and the Ford Focus was towed from the scene by Mottman’s Towing due to heavy damage to the right side and roof of the vehicle.

According to police, Cory Crawford has been cited with a Driving on the Right Side of Roadway violation.
