Car Rolls Over on I-80 in Pine Creek Twp. After Slamming into Bear

Police car lightsPINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a one-car accident occurred around 6:44 p.m. on December 7, on Interstate 80, at the 88.5 mile marker, in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 29-year-old Christina L. Mahlon, of Sigel, was traveling west on I-80 and struck a bear that had already been struck by a tractor trailer.

Mahlon’s 2006 Pontiac G8 was in the left travel lane and impacted the bear with the front of her car, causing major damage to the front of it.

The car veered to the left and crossed into the median, overturned, and came to a final rest facing west on the berm of the eastbound lanes of travel.

Mahlon was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Brookville Ambulance assisted at the scene.
