Car Swerves to Miss Deer, Slams into Tree

Henderson Township, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 10:01 p.m. on July 14, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 2007 (Big Run Prescottville Road), in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 20-year-old Jennifer L. Lowery, of Reynoldsville, was traveling north on SR 2007, and an alleged deer entered the southbound lane of travel and crossed over into the northbound lane.

Lowery swerved into the southbound lane and then traveled approximately 147 feet before striking a tree and ditch located off the southbound shoulder.

Lowery’s 2001 Dodge Neon came to rest at the tree facing northwest.

She was using a seatbelt and was not injured.
