Careta E. Boyle, 107, DuBois, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor.
Born September 27, 1913, in Salisbury, NC, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Mamie (Thompson) Howard Sr.
On July 29, 1944, she married Neil W. Boyle at the St. Catherine of Siena Parish in DuBois, PA. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1992.
Careta was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Michael Archangel Catholic Church.
Careta was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and the DAV Auxiliary.
She loved sewing for everyone, visiting casinos in Salamanca and Pittsburgh, and spending time with family and friends.
Careta is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Robert) Patton, DuBois, a grandson, Shawn T. (Kristi) Patton, and three great-grandchildren, Ali, Kate, and Tori.
In addition to her parents and husband, Careta was preceded in death by her son, Michael Boyle, and four brothers, William, John, Edward, and Percy (Jr.) Howard.
Friends and family will be received Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 3-5 p.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 16, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. from the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with Monsignor Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
The family requests all that visitors wear face coverings.
