Carla Jo Lunger, 64, of Rossiter, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born in Punxsutawney on March 4, 1957, a daughter of the late Gilbert Emanuel Carlson and Catherine Margaret Carlson.
Carla was a a1975 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
On December 31, 2002, she married Larry Lunger. They had a great marriage and she took wonderful care of her husband and home.
She loved her blended family and treated everyone equal. Her eighteen grandchildren were the highlight of her life, and she just loved the kids and babies so much.
Carla was really good at staying touch with her family and siblings and kept everyone up to date with family happenings and events.
Carla loved to talk to people and always had a jolly personality. She and Larry enjoyed going to the casino occasionally.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children Justin Stamler , Kerri Stamler, and Kasey Stamler and fiancé Scott Preston, all of Punxsutawney; three step children, Amanda Yandora and husband P.J. of DuBois, Shannon DiDonato and husband Paul of Philadelphia and Brook Phillips and husband Nathan of Punxsutawney; eighteen grandchildren, Payton and Dulcen Frantz, Ryley Taxis, Paisley and Hunter Clever, Owen and Grayson Preston, Mackensie and Christian Shick, Sophia Yandora, Luca and Antoni DiDonato, Taylor, Tabby and Troy Weaver, Jaci, Jaxson and Issac Phillips; three sisters, Beverly Ann Hudson and husband Richard of DuBois, Lorene Good of DuBois and Catherine Cahill of Waterbury, Connecticut; one brother, Mark Alan Carlson and wife Kim of Punxsutawney.
Preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Robert Emanuel Carlson and Larry Carlson.
Friends will be received from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Don Brauer.
Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery, McCalmont Township.
