Carol Jane (Smith) Mauersberg

Carol Jane (Smith) Mauersberg, 79, of State College, PA, formerly of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away during the early morning hours of Sunday, October 10, 2021.

She was born on February 16, 1942, to the late Harry Logan and Josephine (Williams) Smith in Reynoldsville.

She graduated from Brockway High School and worked for Brockway Glass from 1962 to 1965.

Carol married the love of her life, Richard Mauersberg, on June 18, 1966, in Sigel, PA; Richard survives her.

Carol was a spiritual woman who was Catholic by faith.

She was a member of the Jefferson Manor Women’s Auxiliary; she was also a member of Circle of Goodwill and focused specifically on benefits for senior citizens.

Carol was a flower gardener and enjoyed crafting ceramics and baking.

Above all else Carol loved her family and enjoyed each moment spent with them.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by three children; Terri L. Mauersberg of Greensburg, PA; Brian R. Mauersberg of State College, PA; Joseph (Michelle) Mauersberg of Mechanicsburg, PA; three siblings; Paul Smith; Harry L. Smith; Nancy (Clinton) Harriger; and three grandchildren; Josh Mauersberg; Jacob Mauersberg; and Katrina Mauersberg.

Carol was preceded in passing by her parents.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 2pm to 6pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.

A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 129 Graham Avenue, Brookville, PA 15825, beginning at 10:00am and officiated by Father William Laska.

Final interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
