Carole R. Schultz

Carole R. Schultz, 80, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, December 18, 2020, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born June 9, 1940, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Margaret (Fusco) and Joseph Longo.

On September 13, 1969, she married Herman L. Schultz at the Ss. Cosmas and Damian Church in Punxsutawney, he survives.

Carole was a member of Ss.C.D. church and was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over thirty-two years and also a member of the Rosary Altar Society.

Carole was a graduate of Ss.C.D. Catholic School with the class of 1958. After high school, she went on to graduate at the top of her class from the Pittsburgh School of Cosmetology.

She loved to make Italian food, cooking with her family, and trying new recipes. She especially liked cooking around the holidays, particularly the feast of the seven fishes on Christmas Eve where she and her daughter Denise along with her grandchildren would dance and sing around the kitchen to whatever song would get them shaking. She was a wonderful woman who could always make you smile. Carole enjoyed traveling to new places and seeing new sights and it didn’t matter what time of the year of where it was. Her most loved time was with her family and grand kitties and puppies.

She enjoyed meeting up and having breakfast with her old friends from the call of ’58 at Gimmicks Restaurant to reminisce of days gone by when they were young and foolish or just to catch up on the latest news around town.

Carole sold Tupperware for many years and won quite a few awards for being “Top Seller” in her district. She loved meeting new people and making new friends in the process.

She worked at County Market for a number of years as a bagger and caught up on the latest gossip.

In addition to her husband Herman, she is survived by two children, daughter, Denise M. DeLorenzo and husband Blaine of Punxsutawney and son, William J. Schultz and girlfriend Tracy Pruzinksy of Walston; four grandchildren, Megan Winters along with partners Bret Stiffler and Sarah Rizzi of Pittsburgh, Brennan Winters of Punxsutawney, William Schultz II of Marion Center, Danielle Pierce and husband Kevin of Uniontown; and a great grandson, Gage Pierce of Uniontown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Longo and aunts, Mary Fusco and Louise Ali.

Due to the current guidelines, a private service will be held for the family.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
