Cecil “Eddie” Barker


Cecil “Eddie” Barker, 66, of Brookville, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his apartment at North Fork Heights.

Born March 18, 1951, in Lamar, CO, he was the son of the late Joe and Irene (Sinka) Barker.

Mr. Barker attended Lamar Public Schools. He then attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

On March 18, 1994, he married the former Wanda Beatty in Punxsutawney, PA; she preceded him in death.

Mr. Barker worked as a delivery truck driver for Pepsi. His interests included NASCAR, model cars, tractor pulls, and his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his son, Corey Barker of Colorado; three daughters, Amber Greeley and her husband, Raymond, of Brookville, Heather Goodwin and her husband, Shawn, of Falls Creek, and Leanne Melgosa and her husband, Mark, of Colorado; his sister, Linda Barlett and her husband, Terry, of Arlington, VA; and nine grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Beckendorff, LaWanda McClelland, and Helen Berry.

A memorial luncheon will be held at the Summerville Fire Hall on Saturday, January 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong Funeral Home in Summerville, PA.

The family is respectfully asking for donations to help defray the cost of the funeral.
