Charges Against Brookville Man for Theft of Woman’s Credit Cards Move Forward in Court

KNOX TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Criminal charges against a Brookville man for the theft of a woman’s credit cards moved forward in Jefferson County Court.

Court documents indicate Punxsutawney-based State Police filed the following charges against 29-year-old Timothy Ryan Visniesky on November 20:

– Theft by Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1
– Theft From a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor 1
– Possess Access Device Knowing Counterfeit, Altered, Misdemeanor 3

Charges were waived for court on January 5 and transferred to Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

Visniesky is currently free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

The charges stem from an investigation into a report of a theft in November 2020.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a residence in Knox Township, Jefferson County, around 9:46 p.m. on November 7, for a report of a theft involving credit cards. Police then made contact with Timothy Visniesky.

According to the complaint, Visniesky appeared very nervous and told police that he “made a mistake.” Police then proceeded to speak to the victim at her residence.

The victim told police that she and Visniesky rode together in her vehicle, and then he asked later if her car was still unlocked because he said he forgot his cell phone in it. He then left the residence, went to her car for approximately five minutes, came back in the house, and went immediately upstairs. The victim said she then became suspicious and went to her car where she found her debit card laying on the passenger side floor and found her Discover credit card was missing. She then immediately called and canceled all her credit and debit cards.

The complaint notes that when the victim called Sam’s Club to cancel her MasterCard, she was informed there was a pending charge of $206.10 on her account.

Visniesky was then interviewed about the incident.

He told police that when he went to the victim’s car to get his cell phone, he saw the credit cards in the victim’s purse and took them. He reportedly admitted he then transferred approximately $200.00 from one of the victim’s cards to his PayPal account, according to the complaint.

The charges were filed against Visniesky through Magisterial District Judge Gregory M Bazylak’s office on November 20.
