Charges Filed After Suspect Tells Child to Lie About Being Sexually Abused

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Brookville Borough Police have filed charges against a local resident who allegedly instructed a child to lie about being sexually abused by a family member.

A release issued on Thursday by Officer Shawn Hollobaugh indicates an investigation into a ChildLine case revealed that a known suspect caused “moral and emotional injury” to a juvenile between July 14 and August 12. The suspect allegedly told the juvenile to give false reports of sexual abuse involving a family member and threatened the juvenile with physical violence.

According to police, the suspect also allegedly provided additional false information to Brookville Police.

Charges of child endangerment, terroristic threats, false reports to law enforcement, and disorderly conduct have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Gregory M Bazylak’s office.

The suspect’s name is expected to be released soon.
