REYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Brockway man accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl earlier this year recently waived his preliminary hearing in district court.
According to court documents, the case against 21-year-old Michael Ryan Kroh, of Brockway, has been transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.
Kroh was arraigned in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana on the following charges:
– Statutory Sexual Assault, 4-8 Years Older, Felony 2
– Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
He remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail, unable to post $35,000.00 cash bail.
The case is working its way through the court system.
Jury selection is tentatively scheduled for April 10, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. with President Judge John H. Foradora presiding.
Details of the case:
According to the criminal complaint filed on September 22 by DuBois-based State Police Trooper Shane Buffone, on or about July 10, Kroh allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old female at a residence in Snyder Township, Jefferson County.
During a polygraph examination in August at Project Point of Light in Clearfield, Kroh admitted he had sex with the 15-year-old female approximately one month prior to the polygraph.
This incident was reported by a mandated reporter via Child Line, the complaint states.
Chief Terry Young of the Brockway Police Department originally began the investigation as it was thought to have happened in Brockway Borough, according to the complaint.
Chief Young collected a written statement from the victim on August 15 and in the statement, she related: “Michael Kroh texted me and said he seen my mom. I called him with both wanted to see each other so he came and we ended up having sex.”
The victim’s statement also revealed that the alleged incident occurred in Snyder Township and not Brockway.
The investigation was handed over to DuBois-based State Police at that point.
