Charges Withdrawn Against Man Accused in Physical Altercation in Reynoldsville

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A misdemeanor offense against a Brockway man charged in relation to an incident where he reportedly assaulted a man at a Reynoldsville residence has been withdrawn.

Court documents indicate one first-degree misdemeanor count of simple assault filed against 29-year-old Joshua Allen Sobie was withdrawn.

One summary count of harassment against Sobie has been moved to non-traffic court.

The charges stem from an incident in Reynoldsville Borough in early August.

According to a criminal complaint, DuBois-based State Police were dispatched around 1:27 a.m. on August 4 to a report of an assault on South 13th Street, in Reynoldsville Borough, Jefferson County.

At the scene, police who allegedly said he arrived home and found a man, later identified as Joshua Allen Sobie, in bed with his girlfriend. He said that he and Sobie then got into a physical altercation which occurred in several rooms of the residence, according to the complaint.

The victim’s girlfriend confirmed Sobie’s identity and his involvement in the physical altercation and also reported that Sobie had fled the scene on foot, the complaint states.

Charges were filed against Sobie through Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on August 17.
